50% Defence personnel in the area. Many
families at the end of this year leaving for new postings. Very few
indigenous students. Am concentrating on the theme MY PLACE asis beneficial
to students, both those leaving and those staying as some students
have a negative opinion of their community and lack some significant
knowledge of the area. |

Stuart Park Primary School is located about
3 km from the Darwin CBD. The school has a student population of about
450 with students being drawn from the local suburbs, Defence families,
and families from areas like Palmerston Darwin's twin city and Mandorah
a small community across the harbour. Our class is a group of students
aged 11-13 years of age. There are 16 boys and 6 girls. Interests
are varied with many boys being keen on sport but computers and the
arts also feature. |
