22 students aged 12- 13 years. Our High School is in a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania's capital city on the eastern shore of the Derwent River. We have approx 320 students in grades 7-10, the school celebrated its 30th Anniversary in 2002 and our website was created as a special anniversary project. Not very culturally diverse; have some ASSPA children but not with strong traditional cultural backgrounds; many live on nearby farms; mixture of boys and girls in both grades 5 & 6. North West coast school - large primary school for the area approx. 515 children in total; many children belong to guide and scout groups; play a range of seasonal sports and surf club.

Our class has recently been involved in a unit of work called "Tales from a Suitcase" which focussed on immigration and our multi cultural society. The class is comprised of 26 students (8 Grade 5 & 18 Grade 6, Ages range from 10-12 years).

The school is Miandetta Primary School and caters for students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 (4-12 years). The School Community is made from predominantly Aglo-Saxon and Aboriginal families and has a total of approximately 260 students.
