Warracknabeal is a small, rural community,
380 ks north west of Melbourne, Victoria, the state Capital. Our nearest
large town, Horsham, is 55 ks, south. The town, of about 3000 people,
is the hub for a rich farming area. Farmers grow wheat, barley and
oil seeds and beans etc. There are some sheep. Warracknabeal is the
administrative centre of the Yarriambiack Shire. It has a hospital,
a secondary college, three primary schools, library, swimming pool
and sports fields and sports centre. The businesses supply equipment,
financial, fuel, seeds and services to the farming community. |
